Rain stopping and new snow

Well the rain melted a lot of snow but it has stopped now.  We might be getting 2-12 inches of snow by Friday night and it could be good ridding again by this weekend. 

I also take care of the ice rink in downtown Gaylord and it should be ready to skate on by this weekend, so come into town and check it out and the ice tree.  You can see the ice tree on the county website at www.otsegocountymi.gov

Coming up on Feb 9th we will have Alpenfrost downtown Gaylord.  Information at www.gaylordalpenfrost.com

Wow! ~ 3000 pictures on Saturday – Record!

We had approximately 3000 pictures taken by the camera on Saturday. This equates to 1000-1250 sled sightings! I have not checked all the pictures yet, so some may be of people stopping by, but none the less, it is the most the camera has taken in one day! Thanks!

Glad everyone got to ride. Sounds like a warm up coming next week. Yuck!

Update: Just checked through the pictures and most were of snowmobiles going by. Definitely a record day!

Lots of new snow and more coming

We did get at least 4 inches last night with some blowing.  Before the snow started we had thunder and lightning, don’t see that very often in January.  We should get snow everyday this week and the temps are going to stay on the cold side.   Joe

New snow cold temps

There is enough snow to ride again and we should be getting more.  It will be warmer (35f) on Saturday then drop to the single digits the next couple of days.  Hope the rain stays away this time. Joe

Wow, sleds like crazy yesterday and today

Hi,

Just a quick post to let you know that if you are having an issue getting the “images” page to pull up it’s because there are so many sleds going by! 1200+ pictures today, which usually means 400-600 sleds went by at least. Nice!

The snow is really holding up for so many sleds. The temps all day have been ~ 20. I am sure that is helping. We could use some more snow though!

Trail holding up great

The trail is doing great with all the traffic.  After the snow storm the there were hundreds of trees on the trail and the trail maintenance crew got them cleared enough to ride by the next day.   Thank you. 

We should be getting some new snow over the next couple of days so come on up and enjoy it.

Update 18 Feb New snow

We got more snow last night than what was predictded.  There is about 2-3 new inches on the trail and it should be a good day to ride.  Take advantage of it while you can.

Update 12 Feb trail ok

My wife and I went for a short ride to Wolverine and back.  Trail was in good shape, only a couple of brown spots.  Most of it was 1-2 inches of snow on top of ice and very smooth.  Only saw 6 other riders, thought there would be more out on a beautiful sunny day.
