Sled Count for Weekend – January 16th Update

Hi everyone.  Thanks for all those checking out the site and contributing.  We love to see the comments!  If you have any links you would like to share, post them as a comment and then we will get them on the links page.

Sled traffic was decent over the weekend.  The trail has been groomed well this weekend.  Thank you Gaylord groomers!!!!!!!  It is nice to catch it going by.  The trail is the most beautiful when it gets groomed a couple times in a row before sleds go on it.  Riding a freshly groomed trail is great!

As always, still tinkering with how many pictures the camera captures, so the sled estimates are just that, estimates.

Saturday Sled Count Estimate: 150
Sunday Sled Count Estimate: 75

Thanks for checking in!

Update – Jan 15th

Lots of riders on Saturday and the trails are holding up.  Over 400 new pictures on Saturday.  So many people waited to get trail permits that the Sled Shed in Gaylord ran out of them but they had the part to fix my helmet, thanks.  Looks like there should be another snow storm on Tuesday and next weekend should be great to ride again.

Trail update Friday the 13th

Trail looks great and the groomer headed north at 8:34 pm.

Snow at least to Indian River I was up there today.  Should be a great weekend to ride.

January 13th Update – SNOW!!!! Camera offline temporarily.

Hi everyone,

There is lots of snow in Gaylord!  Schools are closed.  The trail has 6-8 inches of new heavy snow!

Sometime after ~ 12:15 AM the internet where the camera is went down.  Let’s pray it was not because of the accidents on Old 27.  So, we are waiting on Charter to get the internet back up again so we can see and hear the sleds whizzing by!

Thanks for checking in.

January 12th Update

Is it really an update if there is no change? The camera took a bunch of pictures, but probably only because I am tweaking the motion sensitivity.  So, oops….

The snow is coming!  At least that’s what they say!

January 10th Update

I don’t think we had any sleds pass by on Monday?  I did adjust the camera sensitivity, but only got 4 pictures, none with sleds in them.

The snow is hurting.  Not much to ride on.  Heard it might snow this coming weekend.  Let’s hope for it!

At least we are all saving on gas….

January 8th: 5 Sleds, a biker, and a guy in a funny looking jumpsuit

Well, you could ride if you really needed to.  When our friendly biker is out there making good time, you know there is not a lot of snow on the trail.

We put up the temperature guage again.  The old one blew off in a windstorm in the fall.  It is hard to see in the camera, but you can stop by on your sleds!

January 8th sled report: 5, 1 biker, 1 jumpsuit.

Pray for snow and cold weather.

Trail Update January 8th, a little snow, still rideable, but shaky

Their was a little bit of snow overnight.  Enough to turn the brown on the trail to white but just slightly.  Sleds today will turn that brown again.

There were about 15 sleds on Saturday, January 7th pass by the camera.  We got quite a few pictures of the falling snow as well.  I will adjust the camera’s sensitivity over the next few days so we get pictures of sleds and the groomer and not of falling snow!

Thanks for checking in!  If you have any suggestions for the sight, let us know!  You can make a post and we will get it.

Trail Update, :( Sled Count January 6th

Well, you could ride, but it is not great at all.  Let’s just hope the temps stay below freezing so we don’t lose any more snow.  If you are already up there, you probably can get some short rides in around Gaylord if you don’t mind puddles.

Sled Count Estimate for Friday: 10 sleds.  Way lower than it should be for a Friday, January 6th!

Stay positive!
