January 22 – WOW! Can you say Sleds!!!!

Tons of sleds yesterday!  At least 575 based on picture count.  Probably more.  I had the camera on for a bit yesterday in the afternoon and you would have thought it was I-75.  Sweet!  And the best part is the trail was holding up great!  No shadows from the rippling effect that I could see.  The groomers are doing a great job!  Thank you!

As Joe said, it is going to warm up the next two days, then cool down again and more snow.  The trail should hold up well until it cools again.

Update 21 Jan

I was out riding today and it was great, nice new snow, temperature about 20 f and no wind what more could you ask for.  The trail was holding up good for all the traffic on it.  We might get some rain/snow on Sunday or Monday then back to snow on Tuesday.

January 21st Update – Come Ride, It’s Perfect

Pretty much perfect riding today.  Couldn’t ask for more.  Hope you are up riding!  Wish I could be out riding this weekend.

Sled Count estimate for Friday, January 20th: 150

We are getting so many pictures of sleds going by it blows up the images function.  For now, we will have to only show the last couple of days when it is a heavy traffic weekend.  We have most of the pictures if you are looking for a particular one.  Just let us know date & time.

January 20th – SNOW SNOW SNOW! Temporary fix to images page

Well, you can see it for yourself!  Looks like we are above the 1 foot marker on the snow depth!  It has been snowing constantly for the past two days and trails around Gaylord are going to be perfect for you to come up this weekend!

There is an issue with how many pictures the images page can handle.  So for now, only the past week’s pictures will be available there until we find a fix.  If you want a picture that is older, let us know.

Sled Count Estimate for Thursday January 19th: 35

Sled Count estimate for Wednesday January 18th: 50

It looks like there is a problem with the images page.  We will work on that later today/tomorrow.  Sorry!

January 17th Sled Count & Trail Update

Hi everyone.  Looks like the trail may hold up through this week.  That is nice!  We should get some snow during the week to make a better base.  Hopefully it doesn’t get too warm.

Sled count for Monday, January 16th: 30

I have been told the sled count for this past Saturday was low.  So, I had estimated 150, but have not had time to go back and scan through the pictures.

Sled Count for Weekend – January 16th Update

Hi everyone.  Thanks for all those checking out the site and contributing.  We love to see the comments!  If you have any links you would like to share, post them as a comment and then we will get them on the links page.

Sled traffic was decent over the weekend.  The trail has been groomed well this weekend.  Thank you Gaylord groomers!!!!!!!  It is nice to catch it going by.  The trail is the most beautiful when it gets groomed a couple times in a row before sleds go on it.  Riding a freshly groomed trail is great!

As always, still tinkering with how many pictures the camera captures, so the sled estimates are just that, estimates.

Saturday Sled Count Estimate: 150
Sunday Sled Count Estimate: 75

Thanks for checking in!

Update – Jan 15th

Lots of riders on Saturday and the trails are holding up.  Over 400 new pictures on Saturday.  So many people waited to get trail permits that the Sled Shed in Gaylord ran out of them but they had the part to fix my helmet, thanks.  Looks like there should be another snow storm on Tuesday and next weekend should be great to ride again.

Trail update Friday the 13th

Trail looks great and the groomer headed north at 8:34 pm.

Snow at least to Indian River I was up there today.  Should be a great weekend to ride.

January 13th Update – SNOW!!!! Camera offline temporarily.

Hi everyone,

There is lots of snow in Gaylord!  Schools are closed.  The trail has 6-8 inches of new heavy snow!

Sometime after ~ 12:15 AM the internet where the camera is went down.  Let’s pray it was not because of the accidents on Old 27.  So, we are waiting on Charter to get the internet back up again so we can see and hear the sleds whizzing by!

Thanks for checking in.
