ELK
Question for the locals, can you go west onto Kosiara Rd from the “Stop Sign” just North of the Trail Cam? I know you can go East to Old 27, and am just curious if West is an option as well?
Thank you, we are merely hoping it’s open to Morgan. We want to try and use that to get onto Parmater without using 27 or having riders trying to climb the hill and work around fences and guardrails at the tunnel.
I live and ride the trails in Indian river and petoskey and as of yesterday they are in the best shape by far this year! We got hammered in Indian river I was riding in about 2 feet of snow off trail and on trail there was at least 6 inches. Not sure about the railroad grade I have not rode it but I did talk to some riders yesterday who rode up to Indian river from Gaylord and they said the rail was thin in Vanderbilt. Indian river would be a great place to stay and ride from for the upcoming weekend. I am headed out on the trails now to see how things are. I report conditions on Polaris ride command when I am out so you can check that for current conditions
I do know if I could’ve been up there this weekend, I’d be riding more than stopping for the camera, lol. But I do understand why people do it. I’d also be riding more on the edge of the trail where the whiter snow is, like the guy@10:54…..
F****** retards quit kicking snow around the post. Disrespectful for the guy that puts the time into do this. People want to pull this up and look at an accurate snow amount. Stop it you f****** retards!
Totally agree as we try to plan for a run …we got some miles to drive to make it count.
Thank SledHead Pete for his Trail report. It makes a difference $$$$$$$$$$
I totally agree. IDK if it’s wishful thinking, or just not thinking, or both. The gauge is there to let people know what the snow depth is. How can you get an accurate reading when this stupid stuff keeps happening? Sheesh…..
I say thank you to the guy that fixes snow at the stick we went last week thinking there was actually 12 in of snow because of that stick and there was only 4 inches of snow on the ground.
They are a bunch of jack wagons messing with the measuring stick. for accurate snow conditions go to the national weather service Gaylord site. http://www.weather.gov/apx/snow

Thanks 4 the update
Agree on kicking snow up onto the snow guage. Let it be,I want to see if it goes above 6 inches naturally .it typically doesn’t all winter.

I wonder if they park their sleds on a hill to make the fuel gauge read higher than it actually is?! LMAO!!!
