RJ .. I don’t think that groomers would do much good right now. we had 2 weeks with no new snow, temps approaching or exceeding 60 degrees …. what snow that Was there melted away,, leaving the trail a muddy mess … even now I’ll bet that if you dug into the trail, you would reach wet dirt in a short time. Groomers need a stiff frozen base to work from. If not the drive gear of the grooming machines would leave ruts. Maybe after a few more days of sub-freezing temps , a groomer might do some good. YMMV

There’s plenty of snow to be groomed. We sure didn’t get our money’s worth this year.

There’s plenty of snow to work with. The problem is the damn groomers are always broken down.

Yup… One last weekend .. for those either living in the area .. or those crazy enuf to attempt traveling to the area. I live about 42 miles NE of Gaylord .. today we got about 6-9 inches .. would have been a LOT more if it had been colder. This stuff is pretty dense. Another 12-20 inches is forecast for Saturday and Sunday. As far as actual trail use … I’m afraid that 2 weeks without fresh snow and several days above freezing ….the base is gone and this current snow is going to compact into a very rough ride. YMMV

Skip seems a little upset with something. I’m staying positive for all snowmobilers. Let’s go. One more run.

Well…..That might be it for the season… Except – the approaching weekend has up to 9 inches in the forecast. We shall see.

Other than the last several years, I can never remember the season being over this early. It was a great year, until the last several days, if you disregard the groomers being down so often, and long….
